Where did the cover art for "The Life on Mars" come from?
Besides being a world class composer, Bob Baran also spends time creating amazing abstract artwork. A number of pieces that are actually used in the Sound Painter Recording Studios as sound baffles. A small section of one of these paintings was used to create "The Life on Mars" album cover and other small pieces of these paintings were used to create other Bob Baran album covers.
For "The Life on Mars" cover Gwen L. Baran combined a piece of computer artwork with a small shot of "Orca" a painting that Bob painted in 2001. He created the computer artwork some years ago.
